Sanskara Yoga is a North Atlanta based company owned by a mother of three. She has been offering classes and teaching yoga for 4 years (as of 2022).

The company has recently gained access to a studio space and is in need to expand their client base and widen their marketing net. They will be offering a selective amount of classes and events till the client base grows. The company is looking for logo design, web design and marketing materials to build the client base and market to more potential clients.

User Personas

After analyzing feedback from the competitive usability testing, I created 3 lightweight user personas for Sanskara Yoga based on their different yoga interests:

  • Sasha, a mother of two, and wants a variety of activities for her young children.

  • Tom, a busy social person, looking to unwind without devices.

  • Warren and family, wanting to find activities close to home they can all enjoy together.

Building the Brand

With local participants I was able to observe how potential clients would use the web design. This gave my client and I an insight to how to structure the web design in the most user friendly way possible.

Website Structure

User Flow

Sketched Wireframes

Low Fidelity Wireframes

High Fidelity Wireframes

After presenting the high fidelity wireframes with the client, we agreed there was more work to do. The whimsical factor that we intended was not present, the colors were slightly the wrong tint and there were too many types of fonts. While this can be frustrating, I get really excited at this stage. I have worked out some of the design features I felt would work, some made the cut and some didn’t.
The whole calendar was cut, as well as the classes page. I designed some cute illustrations and icons to give the design the feel and look my client and I were looking for. The final design has a collection of fun design as well as easy user flow.
